The Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec (FPJQ) and its Photo committee are proud to present the 2012 Québec Press Photos, an exhibition of the finalists for the Antoine-Desilets Award, which commemorates the best press photos of the year from Québec. The Antoine-Desilets Award began in 2005 to recognize the high quality of photographic production in Québec and the contribution of press photographs for public information.
The photos are divided into five categories: Sports, News, Daily life, Photojournalism and Portrait. All the photos have been published or commissioned by a media company. The award bears the name, of he who is known as “father” of Québec press photographs, Antoine Desolets, photographer for La Presse from 1960 to 1980. This award is also a tribute to his achievements.
