From October 9 to November 3, the Zoom Photo Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary!
The event has become a must-attend autumn event in Saguenay. It remains the only festival dedicated to photojournalism in Canada.
The work of over twenty photojournalists will be showcased over the four weeks.
A sensitive, universal theme
Renowned Canadian photojournalist Adrienne Surprenant had the honor of choosing the theme that guided the selection of these exhibitions: independence.
Independence is a quest for recognition and mastery of an identity, a way of life, values or beliefs. It calls for the expression of both individuals and entire communities.
Exceptional photo essays from around the world document these places of autonomy and demand, whether related to culture, the body, language, territory or freedom of expression.
Guest curator Adrienne Surprenant defines her proposed theme as follows: “It’s a subject that touches us all. It’s about enjoying autonomy from someone or something. Sometimes, it’s a broken hope. It’s a breath of fresh air that makes us want to fight, create and build.
Come and discover these struggles on every continent at the 15th Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay!
