Photographers from the four corners of the globe will converge on Saguenay this fall for
the 14th edition of the Zoom Photo Festival. Their unique and captivating documentary work will once again allow the public to discover exhibitions of international caliber.  

The organization has carefully selected the exhibitors who will be in the spotlight from October 4 to 29. The theme of this 2023 edition is The living in all its states. The photographs will highlight all-round changes, including those related to climate, biodiversity and human populations.

its torments and its beauties.

THE LIVING IN ALL ITS FORMS

Thank you all for contributing through your photographic documentaries to the festival’s success

This training will take place over two days, on October 7 and 8. It will take advantage of the synergy of the festival. The presence of international photojournalists at Zoom Photo Festival creates an environment conducive to knowledge sharing and professional networking.

The goal of the training is to introduce students to documentary photography by offering workshops, conferences and meetings with professionals in the field of image: photojournalists, director of photography, editor, agency owner and other stakeholders in the field.

 The topics covered during the two days of training will be :

• Visual Storytelling: telling a story in images
• Field organization and daily logistics
• Promoting and selling your work and networking
• How to find a subject/story and how to prepare for it
• Private lectures on the background and work of some of the Quebec and international photographers exhibited during the festival
  

Exclusive to students: Portfolio Review dinner with masterclass teachers and surprise guests from among the festival photographers.

The fee is $150 for the 2 days, including the two dinners.
Lodging is at the Collège de Chicoutimi.

Zoom Photo Festival is looking for photographic documentaries projects for its 13th edition which will take place in Saguenay, Quebec from October 06 to October 30.

This international call for applications is open to professional photographers of all nationalities as well as and Canadians. The selected projects are works of photography from social issus.

« The theme, Human nature, proposes a look at the way Man, in the largest sense of the word, can be influenced by his environment, that is to say by the conditions, both natural and cultural, that make up the frame of his life and that are susceptible to have an impact on him. » explains Michel Tremblay, director of the festival.

The winning photos, which are chosen by a jury, will be exhibited during the Zoom Photo Festival Saguenay from October 6 to October 24, 2021. They will also be presented at the Maison du développement durable in Montreal.

Participants must submit their photojournalism entry, which should include a minimum of 15 photos, before June 21 th, 2021 at midnight.
