For the love of guns is a photographic display by two members of the KAHEM photographers’ association. Christian Lamontagne and Nicolas Lévesque travelled to two different locations in the United States to meet gun enthusiasts and explore their relationship with their firearms.
Lévesque became interested in the presence of firearms in daily life and went to Kennesaw, a small American city in the State of Georgia, where the good citizen is an armed citizen. Since May 1, 1982, a municipal law stipulates that each home must have a functional firearm and ammunition.
Lamontagne tends to be more interested in firearm enthusiasts; he went to Northern Arizona to attend the Big Sandy Shoot. Hundreds of firearms enthusiasts assembled in the desert, establishing the largest firing range in the United States and transformed this site into a true battlefield.
Despite the friendly atmosphere at the Big Sandy Shoot and the apparent success of the Kennesaw law, the crime rate has risen considerably; firearms are responsible for approximately 30,000 deaths in the United States every year.
