In the last two years, Bernard Brault covered hundreds of sporting events in Montreal and elsewhere. For “La Presse”, he covered the last eleven Olympic Games including those of Sochi in February 2014. He also followed part of the season of the Montreal Canadiens at the Bell Centre.
There was a return to the past with the coverage of baseball games of the Toronto Blue Jays at the Olympic Stadium. The Impact and Montreal Alouettes games also occupy part of his summer.
The Canadian Grand Prix is one of his favorite events to take pictures of since its beginnings in Montreal in 1978.
Sometimes, he goes to amateur sports activities such as dirt car racing and the Quebec Games in Drummondville. The Freestyle moguls events remains one of the sports he loves photographing the most.
Professional photographer since 1976, Bernard Brault captures the emotion and movement through his photos. Specializing in sports, he began his career at the newspaper “Le Courrier du sud” on the south shore of Montreal. He has been, for over 31 years, a photographer for one of america’s largest french daily: “La presse”. He has won over 300 awards in his career including the Canadian photographer of the year in 1996 and 2007.
